All About Understanding
Summary
When we partnered with All About Understanding to create their website, they were a non-profit that'd just got started and were looking to create a website that could list their core values and staff as well as serve as a place where potential volunteers could find information and sign up. It was also important that we created a place to take donations for the non-profit.
Client Overview
All About Understanding (ABU) creates refreshing, enriching ideas and programs that uplift the minds and spirits of young thinkers while building their self-confidence in the fact that anything is achievable. Their programs are designed to bridge the gap between the traditional classroom and “real-life” situations. ABU aims to equip the world's future leaders with a variety of life skills necessary to become productive citizens and take pride in striving for a better future. Their purpose is to help the youth understand themselves and develop life skills so that they can live fulfilling lives.
The Problem
The images we received for the website we perfect, but the colors seemed like they could be better. Also, ABU didn't have a platform they could communicate with their volunteers on. There wasn't a place anyone could go to sign up and get updates. And finally, we wanted to take donations for the non-profit as well so we had to find a 3rd party program that could take donations without charging fees or taxes.
The Solution
So I took the images into Photoshop and did some color grading to better align with the color scheme of the site. Next, I suggested to ABU that we create an email list for their organization. An email list can be a place to collect those who have shown interest in volunteering while also sending them relevant information in an easy way, they agreed. Finally, for the donations, we had to try a couple of different platforms. We used Square and Donately initially but ended up settling on Paypal Donations.
